Scooter Sounds Off

Dog Walks

As I backed out of the driveway this morning to head off to the coal mines (that would be work), I couldn’t help but notice Scooter – perched on top of the couch – taking it all in before snuggling back down for some more shut-eye. At that point, the life of a dog didn’t seem all that bad. I had to wonder who was getting the better deal in this relationship – the master or his dog?

It caused me to think about what types of comments Scooter might make if he had the opportunity to set the record straight. So here are some insights into a dog’s perspective on life:

– Summer shouldn’t be called the dog days as if that were some sort of downer. Scooter likes the longer days. He wakes up at sunlight to head out for his early morning barking. He sleeps inside in the air conditioning during the heat of the day. He doesn’t get to eat snowballs from Opies . . . but you can’t have everything.

– Scooter may have been neutered but he still has a different image in mind for a hot dog. He wants to know how processed sausage got this label. He is demanding a full etymylogical study.

– Regarding learning new tricks as an old dog, Scooter reserves the right to comment when he reaches that over-the-hill status. For now, he will continue to show off his limited repetoire.

One reason a dog is such a lovable creature is his tail wags instead of his tongue. ~Author Unknown
